Working through experimentation, this object is an accumulation of my exploration of ‘rice as method’. Taking inspiration from Black Soil by Kimberly Bain and the spiritual practices I’ve gleaned from my mother and hers too, this textile serves as a reflection. Of the maker, of material, of method, of labor, of time, of history, of the space she adorns, and of those who choose to look after her.
