Pamma Altar, 2024
Mild steel, TIG welded

50’’  tall,  30’’ x 40’’  base area

Named after my thodda, my maternal grandmother. this piece explores the submission of the body to natural elements while seeking shelter from it.
When does something because sacred? When do we learn to worship?
Today, this piece lives in the RISD Regenerative Earth Collective garden, where she rusts and makes gentle sound in the rain, and serves as a shelter and support for flora and fauna. She is a quiet companion to those who seek respite in the garden.
