The Dosa Stool, like the Tiffin Set, is rooted in inherited knowledge, but this time, it is also a site of contemplation. Simple materials, put together in a clear visual order; the recipe for a stool, if you will. Douglas fir bundled together like stalks of rice growing from a large steel box frame, a towelette draped over like a kitchen towel at rest. A step added to pay homage to little me with her feet up on the stretcher under the stool. Sitting on this stool might be the closest you and I can get to embodying a bowl of soaking parboiled rice waiting with excitement to be ground into dosa batter. (Until I make version two of this stool!)
